Trace your sea route to China

Map

A great accompaniment to the History Mystery, Raja Raja and the Swapped Sacks!

Find your way from India to China via the sea route, on this map.

During Raja Raja Chola’s reign, trade between India and China was very active and the maritime silk route was a busy one with trading ships and even pirates!

Here are all the things you can do with this map.

Right click, save and print it!

Locate the compass rose on the map (top right corner) and mark the cardinal directions on all the points of the compass.

Find ‘N’ marked on India. That stands for the Chola port of Nagapattinam.

Find ‘Q’ marked in China. That stands for the port of Quanzhou.

Get a pencil and mark your way from N to Q. How would you go? West around the world? South below Australia and back North again? Or (hint) east through the Strait of Mallaca and then up North?

Keep the map handy as the ship with Only One sails forth when you read the book Raja Raja and the Swapped Sacks.
